- Say how it is used or who it suits, such as an everyday mug, a bridesmaid gift or a nursery blanket.
- Cover the practical part: care, processing time, and any personalization or custom order options.
- Read it against the item and the photos, and fix anything that does not match before you publish.
What to leave out of the description
- Prices, sale wording and shipping costs. Etsy shows these in their own fields and they go out of date in text.
- Your shop policies copied into every listing. Etsy has a policies section for them.
- Long runs of keywords. Buyers read the description, and a list of search terms puts them off.
- Claims you cannot back up, such as “best quality” or health and safety promises.
